Improve access to treatment for anterior knee pain within the running community

Overview:
Knee pain is the second most common cause of injury, yet 74% do not seek treatment. Previous literature highlights that current offerings by Physiotherapists are in affecting in treating the condition, with those who seek private treatment more likely to suffer additional pains. As a result, 96% of patients look to resolve issues at home. New technologies, including Generative Design and Telemedicine are decreasing development and treatment times respectively. Yet, industry remains reliant on traditional offerings, with Physiotherapists and Podiatrists regarding digital technologies inaccurate and less effective than industry knowledge.
Brief:
Improve access to treatment for PFPS within the running community.
Outcome:
Through undertaking case studies and academic research, a product-system has been developed. Design matrix created allowing the generation of custom knee supports utilising AI generative design and patient data. System can be operated and manufactured remotely, removing the necessity for face-to-face contact.
